Strength Flower Rx: Keep Watering the Garden

Sometimes life changes the plan.

And ironically, that is exactly what this month’s Flower Rx: Strength is all about.

Unfortunately, the extreme heat and weather conditions have affected some of our flower crops. A few varieties that should have remained in season much longer are no longer available, along with several other stems we originally planned for this month’s box.

As a florist, I can plan the recipe, choose the flowers and imagine exactly what I want the finished box to look like. But Mother Nature always gets the final vote.

Isn’t life exactly the same?

Sometimes something unexpected happens and suddenly we have to shift.

Maybe you get sick. Maybe work becomes overwhelming. Maybe plans change overnight. Yesterday, my son broke his thumb at football practice, which meant an unexpected trip to the ER late at night and now his first cast.

None of that was on the calendar.

But strength isn’t about everything going according to plan. Strength is learning how to keep growing when it doesn’t.

Sometimes we don’t want to be strong. Sometimes we’re tired. Sometimes we need to rest, heal, regroup and change direction.

The garden teaches us something beautiful about that.

Keep watering the garden.

Even when one flower doesn’t bloom the way you expected, you don’t stop caring for the entire garden. You adjust. You nurture what’s growing. You give it sunlight, water and time, and eventually something new begins to bloom.

Introducing Our New Strength Flower Rx

Because of the weather conditions, we are introducing a newly revised Strength Flower Rx box beginning next week.

Each flower carries an intention and meaning:

Dahlia • Ultimate Friendship
Marigold • Reducing Stress
Hydrangea • Communication
Dianthus • Consistency
Eucalyptus • Resting + Healing
Yarrow • Clearing Negative People + Energy
Celosia • Clearing Narcissistic Energy

Together, these flowers become more than a bouquet. They become a little prescription for navigating challenging seasons of life.

Your Strength Mantra

“I protect my peace, honor my strength, and release what no longer deserves my energy.”

Read it.

Say it.

Put your flowers somewhere you will see them every day and allow them to become a visual reminder of what you’re choosing for yourself.

Protect your peace. Communicate. Stay consistent. Rest when you need to. Surround yourself with real friendship. Release the energy and people who drain you.

And keep watering your garden.

This Flower Rx also makes a meaningful gift for someone going through a challenging season. Create the arrangement, include the flower meanings and mantra, and give someone a living reminder that they are stronger than they may feel right now.

Thank you for being flexible with us as we work with Mother Nature and adjust this month’s flowers. And most importantly, thank you for embracing the meaning behind Strength right along with us.

Wishing everyone a beautiful and happy Labor Day.

Stay strong. Stay grounded. Keep blooming.
