Planning a baby shower is such a special moment. Whether you’re celebrating at home, in a garden, at a restaurant, hotel, country club, or private event venue, the flowers are often what bring the entire celebration together.
When guests walk into a room, flowers immediately create a feeling. They soften the space, establish the color palette, make photographs more beautiful, and turn ordinary tables into part of the celebration.
If you’re searching for a baby shower florist near me, one of the biggest questions is probably:
How much should I actually budget for baby shower flowers?
At Magical Blooms, we’ve designed flowers for celebrations throughout the South Bay and Los Angeles area for decades. Here’s what you should know before hiring a local florist for your baby shower.

Why Hire a Local Florist for a Baby Shower?
You can find thousands of beautiful baby shower photographs online, but recreating that look in a real venue requires much more than choosing a few pretty flowers.
A professional florist considers the entire room.
How many guests are coming? How large are the tables? Are they round or rectangular? How high should the centerpieces be? Where will guests take photographs? What flowers are available that week? What colors already exist in the venue?
Most importantly, where will flowers make the biggest impact for your budget?
An experienced local florist can take an inspiration photograph and interpret it specifically for your celebration rather than simply trying to copy it.
How Much Should You Spend on Baby Shower Flowers?
There is no single correct number, but knowing realistic price ranges makes planning much easier.
Small & Intimate Baby Shower: $500–$1,000

For a smaller gathering, this budget can work beautifully when the flowers are strategically placed.
You might choose several table centerpieces, a collection of bud vases, and one larger arrangement for the dessert, gift or welcome table.
Rather than trying to decorate every corner, concentrate your flowers where guests will actually see and photograph them.
Medium Baby Shower: $1,000–$2,500
This is a wonderful range for many professionally designed baby showers.
With this budget, you can begin carrying the floral design throughout the room instead of having flowers only on the dining tables.
Depending on the guest count and design, this might include centerpieces, cocktail-table flowers, a welcome arrangement, dessert-table flowers, bar or buffet flowers, and one larger statement piece.
Elevated Baby Shower: $2,500–$5,000+
If flowers are an important part of your décor, this budget allows us to create a much more immersive environment.
Think fuller centerpieces, premium flowers, multiple statement arrangements, entrance flowers, bar and buffet flowers, and floral elements incorporated into a photo or backdrop area.
Luxury Baby Shower: $5,000–$10,000+
For a highly styled or editorial baby shower, flowers can become one of the primary design elements of the event.
Large-scale floral installations, premium flower varieties, oversized statement arrangements, floral backdrops and flowers throughout the venue can quickly move a floral budget into this range.
There really isn’t a ceiling when creating custom event flowers. Scale, flower selection and installation ultimately determine the investment.
What Is the Ideal Baby Shower Floral Budget?
For many showers, $1,500–$2,500 is an excellent floral sweet spot.
It’s usually enough to make the flowers feel intentional throughout the celebration without necessarily moving into large-scale event production.

However, a smaller budget can still create something beautiful.
The secret is not putting flowers everywhere.
It’s putting flowers where they matter most.
If someone tells us, “I have $750 for flowers,” we can design specifically around that amount. Instead of spreading the budget across 15 tiny arrangements, it might make more sense to create gorgeous dining-table centerpieces and one memorable focal arrangement.
Your florist should help you decide where every floral dollar has the greatest visual impact.
How Much Do Baby Shower Centerpieces Cost?
Centerpiece prices vary tremendously depending on flower varieties, size and season, but these ranges can help when building your initial budget:
Bud vases: approximately $25–$40 each
Small floral centerpieces: approximately $75–$100
Fuller centerpieces: approximately $100–$150+
Statement arrangements: approximately $200–$500+
Large floral installations and backdrops: custom pricing

Premium flowers, unusual varieties, elaborate mechanics and larger installations will increase pricing.
Delivery, setup, breakdown, rentals, vessels and labor may also be separate depending on the event.
A Realistic Baby Shower Flower Budget Example
Imagine you’re planning a baby shower for approximately 40 guests with five dining tables.
If you choose five centerpieces at approximately $125 each, you’ve invested about $625 in your main table flowers.
Then you might add:
A beautiful welcome arrangement, several bud vases for cocktail tables, flowers for the dessert table, and a slightly larger arrangement near the guest of honor.
Your floral investment could reasonably reach approximately $1,000–$1,500, plus applicable delivery, setup, rentals or installation.
For a more elaborate shower with larger centerpieces and floral installations, the same 40-person celebration could easily move into the $2,500+ range.
This is why guest count alone doesn’t determine your flower budget. The look you want matters just as much.

Baby Shower Flowers Don’t Have to Be Pink or Blue
One of our favorite changes in baby shower design is the movement away from everything having to be traditionally pink or blue.
We’re creating beautiful palettes using ivory, cream, caramel, champagne, dusty blue, lavender, butter yellow, soft peach, muted greens and earthy neutrals.
You can still hint at traditional baby colors without allowing them to dominate the room.
For example, an arrangement featuring caramel roses, natural cotton, textural grasses, soft blue flowers and whimsical greenery feels perfect for a baby shower while remaining sophisticated and unexpected.
The result feels less like themed décor and more like beautiful floral design.
Where Should You Put Flowers at a Baby Shower?
Start with the places that guests naturally notice.
Dining tables are usually the first priority because guests spend so much time sitting around them.
Then consider your entrance or welcome table, dessert and cake table, gift table, bar, buffet, cocktail tables, photo area, and the place where the mother-to-be will be seated.
You don’t necessarily need large arrangements in every location.
One of my favorite techniques is combining larger statement arrangements with smaller bud vases throughout the room. It creates continuity without requiring a major centerpiece on every available surface.

Should You Spend Money on a Floral Backdrop?
Ask yourself one question:
Where will everyone take pictures?
If you know your guests will gather around a particular backdrop, chair, dessert display or balloon installation, adding flowers there can be money very well spent.
That arrangement may appear in dozens or even hundreds of photographs after the event.
On the other hand, if you have a limited budget, don’t sacrifice every dining-table centerpiece just to create one enormous installation.
A florist should help you find the right balance.
Tell Your Florist Your Budget
This is one of the most important pieces of advice I can give anyone planning an event.
Tell us your budget.
You don’t have to play the guessing game.
Saying, “I love this photograph and have $1,500 to spend. What can you create?” gives your florist useful information.
We can explain what’s realistic, suggest seasonal alternatives, recommend which areas to prioritize, and create a design that works within your investment.
A good florist isn’t simply selling you flowers.
We’re helping you decide where those flowers belong.
Choosing Flowers With Meaning
Baby showers are particularly beautiful opportunities to incorporate flowers for their symbolism as well as their appearance.
Roses are connected with love. Hydrangeas can represent heartfelt communication. Gerbera daisies carry joyful, happy energy. Rosemary is associated with memories.
Flowers can become part of the intention surrounding the celebration.
You’re not simply decorating a table.

You’re gathering family and friends to welcome a completely new chapter of someone’s life.

Planning a Baby Shower? Start With These Four Things
Before contacting your florist, have these details ready: your event date, venue or location, approximate guest count, and floral budget.
Then send inspiration photographs showing the overall feeling you love.
From there, your florist can help translate the vision into something that’s beautiful, realistic and uniquely yours.
Because beautiful baby shower flowers aren’t about spending the most money.
They’re about making the room feel different the second everyone walks through the door.
