If you know me, you know I’ve spent my life surrounded by flowers—celebrating others’ love stories, creating wedding dreams, and blooming in my own ways through every season. But today, I get to share something incredibly personal:
I’m engaged to Gil Harir. I get to marry my best friend.
It’s my very first wedding.
I’ve spent years designing weddings for others, and now—I get to plan my own.
But more than the dress, more than the flowers, more than the dream—I get to marry a man who sees me, who helps me bloom, and who stands with me as I continue to grow. I get to marry someone who’s not just here for me—but is here for Jack, too.
Many people know that my son has never met his father, and he’s never had a consistent father figure in his life. So for me, getting married is about so much more than a wedding—it’s a beautiful symbol that my son will finally have a man to lean on, someone who will be a father figure and a steady presence in his world.
This is something deeply meaningful and incredibly special to share.
That’s what makes this so deeply special. Jack has never had a father. And now, Jack gets to have a dad.
A real one.
A present one.
A kind one.
This isn’t just a wedding. It’s the beginning of a new family. It’s the start of something we’ve all been waiting for—a home filled with love, with laughter, and with the kind of commitment that says, we’re in this together.
I can’t wait to walk this path, hand in hand with Gil, and watch all of us—Jack, Gil, and me—bloom together.
Thank you for celebrating with us. The best is yet to come.
With love,
Jenny Barker, The Flower Doctor
