Valentine’s Day Is Coming… and This Is My 30th Year as a Florist

Valentine’s Day is always February 14, and this year it falls on a Saturday.
And here’s something I can hardly believe myself…

This is my 30th year professionally as a florist during Valentine’s Day.

Thirty years of early mornings.
Thirty years of long lines, full coolers, and open hearts.
Thirty years of love stories passing through my hands.

When I really stop and think about it, I’ve touched hundreds of thousands of roses in my lifetime. Maybe more. Roses are carried for first loves, lifelong loves, apologies, reconciliations, grief, gratitude, and passion. Each stem has its own energy. Each bouquet with a story.

Valentine’s Day isn’t just a holiday to me. It’s part of my life’s work.

At Magical Blooms, we will be open extended hours to help everyone celebrate love in all its forms. But here’s my loving, professional, very real warning from someone who has lived this holiday for three decades:

We always sell out at least TWO DAYS BEFORE Valentine’s Day.
Please do not come in the day of. I promise I’m not being dramatic.
I’m being experienced.

If you want flowers that are intentional, beautiful, and handled by someone who has devoted her life to this craft, order early.
