Tonight at Magical Blooms, we gathered around flowers, faith, beauty, and meaning for a special women’s flower class with the Palos Verdes Chabad ladies group and Rochie, the Chabad of Palos Verdes.

The theme of the evening was The Giving of Beauty, connected to Shavuot, mitzvah, and the deeper spiritual energy that happens when women come together to create something with their hands and hearts.

At first glance, a flower class may look like a beautiful night out. Fresh flowers on the table. Color everywhere. Women designing, laughing, talking, and choosing stems. But what happened tonight was much deeper than that.

We talked about how beauty is not just decoration. Beauty is energy. Beauty is connection. Beauty can be a mitzvah when it brings light, peace, joy, and intention into the world.

Flowers, Shavuot, and the Beauty of Receiving

Shavuot is connected to receiving the Torah, gathering in holiness, and opening ourselves to wisdom. Flowers have always felt so aligned with that energy to me because flowers teach us how to receive.

They receive sunlight.
They receive water.
They receive care.
Then they give back beauty without apology.

Tonight, every woman created her own floral design, but each arrangement became more than flowers in a vase. It became a reflection of her energy, her intention, and her own version of beauty.

That is what I love about teaching flower classes. No two arrangements ever look exactly the same, because no two women are carrying the same story.

The Giving of Beauty

The phrase The Giving of Beauty felt so powerful tonight.

In a world that can feel rushed, loud, and heavy, choosing beauty is not small. It is brave. It is healing. It is a way of saying, “I am making space for light.”

When we bring flowers into a room, we change the energy of that room. When we create with flowers, we soften. We breathe differently. We become present. We remember that our hands can make something beautiful.

That is the flower medicine.

At Magical Blooms, I always say flowers are more than pretty. Flowers are medicine. They hold meaning, memory, emotion, and energy. They help people celebrate, grieve, gather, heal, and reconnect.

Tonight, the flowers became a teaching tool for Shavuot, mitzvah, and women’s connection.

The room becomes warm.
The conversations open.
The laughter gets louder.
The heart softens.

Tonight was one of those evenings where the shop felt alive in the most beautiful way. The flowers were fresh, the energy was joyful, and the meaning behind the class made everything feel even more powerful.
