Six years ago today, I stood at a flower farm, turned on my camera, and shared something straight from my heart: The Flower Prescription RX.
I can still remember putting those flowers together. The colors. The feeling of the stems in my hands. The excitement of explaining why I had chosen each one. People were watching me live on YouTube, and there I was, surrounded by flowers, taking a chance on an idea I believed in.

I believe I sold 35 boxes that day. Thirty-five! I was so proud. People had watched, connected with what I was sharing, and wanted a little of that flower energy in their own homes.
Looking back at those pictures today, I remember exactly how good it felt to be there. In the middle of so much uncertainty, I felt supported. I felt hopeful. I felt like myself.
Every flower in that first prescription carried a message.

The gerbera daisies were for joy. Those happy faces reminded me that even during a difficult season, there was still something to smile about.
The spray roses were my little love angels. All those tiny blooms together reminded me of the love and support around us, even when we cannot see it or forget that it is there.
The eucalyptus was a reminder of peace: breathe, slow down, relax your mind, and give yourself a moment.

And the lilies? They were there to remind you that you are classy, beautiful, and a beautiful soul. Sometimes we need something lovely in front of us to help us remember our own worth.
That was the heart of Flower RX. I wanted people to open a box, touch the flowers, and spend a little time with themselves. To arrange something beautiful while thinking about what they needed more of in their lives.

This was during COVID. The world felt unfamiliar, and so much about running a business had become complicated. I remember driving to the farm and staying at a hotel when stays were restricted to essential workers. There was so much effort behind those moments that a photograph could never fully show.
And through it all, my son was watching his mom hustle.

As a single mother and an entrepreneur, you carry so much at once. You are working, creating, figuring things out, and trying to keep going for yourself and your child. I hope that when Jack looks back, he remembers a mom who believed in what she was doing and kept showing up, even when she did not have everything figured out.
I could not have had that beginning without the farm and my dear friend Juan Carlos. He allowed me to step into the greenhouse and experience something that would become such an important part of my story. That opportunity meant more to me than he may ever know.

Juan Carlos, thank you for opening that door. Six years later, I still remember the feeling.
Who could have known, standing there in that greenhouse, that my journey with flowers would one day become a book shared with readers around the world? That the woman filming, arranging, and pouring her heart into those boxes would become the author of Flower Energy: Channeling the Healing Power of Blooms?
I certainly could not see the whole picture then. I was simply doing the work in front of me, with flowers in my hands and an idea in my heart.

How many flowers have I touched since that day? It feels like a million. Every stem has been part of the work: choosing, preparing, arranging, packing, teaching, giving. It has taken time, energy, emotion, and a whole lot of love.
There have been successes and failures. Beautiful days and exhausting ones. Moments when I felt proud and moments when I had to look in the mirror and remind myself to be kind to the woman looking back.
If you ask me what the secret is, this is what I would tell you: keep going. Keep showing up. Speak kindly to yourself while you figure things out.

Life will have its roller coasters. You can work hard, love what you do, and still have difficult days. You do not have to pretend those days are easy. But you can look for something good, accept support, and put one foot in front of the next. Sometimes that is how you begin to see a way forward.
Nothing happens overnight. A dream grows through all those ordinary days when you choose to try again.
And when I think about all the flowers being given around the world today, it makes me smile. Someone is saying “I love you.” Someone is celebrating. Someone is remembering a person they miss. Someone is bringing flowers home simply because they want their kitchen to feel beautiful.

How romantic and special is that? To be part of something that helps people express what is in their hearts.
Today, I am grateful for those first 35 boxes, for the people who watched that livestream, for Juan Carlos and the farm, for my son, and for everyone who has welcomed my flowers into their lives since then.
Happy sixth anniversary, Flower RX. I started with flowers in my hands and hope in my heart. Looking at those pictures today, I am so grateful I kept going.
With love and flower energy,
Jenny Barker
