Jack Golden Barker Graduates 8th Grade: A Proud Single Mom Moment

Yesterday, Jack Golden Barker graduated from 8th grade, and I can barely believe how quickly junior high flew by.

As a mother, and especially as a single mom, this milestone feels enormous. There are moments in life that make you stop, breathe, and realize just how far you have come. Watching Jack graduate was one of those moments.

He graduated with almost all A’s, and my heart is overflowing with pride. I know every parent understands this feeling, the quiet tears, the big smile, the deep gratitude, the feeling of, “Wow, we made it here.”

Being Jack’s mother has been one of the greatest joys of my life. He has grown into such a kind, smart, funny, helpful, and beautiful person. I have watched him move through childhood with curiosity, strength, and heart. And now, standing at the edge of high school, I see him becoming more and more of who he is meant to be.

So many of you have watched Jack grow up around Magical Blooms. You have seen him in the flower shop, surrounded by flowers, community, customers, High Teas, classes, events, and all the wild, colorful energy that comes with being part of our world. This summer, he is stepping into a new chapter. He has been helping more with our High Teas at the flower shop, and he is also starting football, which is so exciting to watch.

There is something so special about seeing your child bloom in front of your eyes. For years, Jack has been my little flower growing beside me, and now I see him becoming a strong young man with his own path, his own dreams, and his own beautiful energy.

To everyone who has supported me as a single mom over the years, thank you. Truly. It takes love, community, encouragement, and faith to raise a child while building a business, writing a book, running a flower shop, and showing up every day. Your support has meant the world to us.

Jack, congratulations on graduating 8th grade. I am so proud of you. I love being your mother. I love watching you grow. I love seeing the person you are becoming.

The next chapter is here, and I cannot wait to watch you bloom even more.
