There are some moments in life that you know you will remember forever, and my time in Houston was absolutely one of them.

Today marked the first stop on my Jewish Book Council book tour for Flower Energy: Channeling the Healing Power of Blooms, and I could not have imagined a more beautiful way to begin this journey.

More than 100 guests gathered for an incredible luncheon in Houston, Texas, and the event was completely sold out. I walked into a room filled with warmth, curiosity, laughter, generosity, and that unmistakable feeling of Jewish community.

And by the end of the afternoon, every book was signed.

But what touched me even more than seeing all those copies of Flower Energy leave the room was meeting so many wonderful new people. I arrived in Houston to speak about flowers and my book, and I left feeling as though I had made an entirely new circle of friends.

The Warmth of Jewish Community

One of the things I treasure most about being Jewish is the feeling of connection.

There is something extraordinary about entering a room where you may not know everyone personally, yet somehow there is already a sense of family. We gather around food. We tell stories. We ask questions. We laugh. We support one another. We celebrate traditions that have been carried from generation to generation.

That warmth was everywhere in Houston.

My own Jewish journey began by choice, and Judaism has become such an important part of the way I understand spirituality, intention, symbolism, community, and healing.

In many ways, that is exactly how I experience flowers too.

In Judaism, so much meaning can live inside something tangible: the candles we light, the foods we place on a holiday table, the wine we bless, the herbs and symbolic foods of Passover.

For me, flowers carry that same opportunity for intention.

A flower is never simply decoration.

It can represent love, healing, communication, joy, remembrance, friendship, faith, or a new beginning.

That is the heart of Flower Energy and why I call myself The Flower Doctor. For decades, I have watched flowers change the energy of a room and, sometimes, the energy of the person holding them.

Celebrating the Women of Lion of Judah

It was also very special to share this experience with women connected to Lion of Judah, the Jewish Federation movement’s community of philanthropic women.

The Lion of Judah represents something I deeply admire: women coming together with generosity, leadership, purpose, and a commitment to strengthening Jewish life.

Being surrounded by women who care so deeply about their families, their communities, Israel, Jewish continuity, and helping others made this luncheon particularly meaningful.

There is tremendous power when women gather with intention.

Whether we are supporting a community, raising our families, building businesses, volunteering, creating art, giving philanthropically, or simply being present for another woman, we create ripples far beyond ourselves.

I am incredibly grateful to the Jewish Federation of Greater Houston and everyone who helped make this luncheon happen.

The hospitality was beautiful. The lunch was lovely. The conversations were meaningful. And the energy in the room was something I will carry with me as this tour continues.

Standing in front of more than 100 people and sharing not only my book, but pieces of my personal story, my Jewish journey, my career in flowers, and my belief that nature can help us reconnect with ourselves was incredibly moving.

I talked about how flowers have been part of my life for decades and how I eventually realized I wasn’t simply designing arrangements.

I was prescribing flowers.

Flowers for happiness.

Flowers for communication.

Flowers for healing.

Flowers for remembrance.

Flowers for grounding.

Flowers for opening the heart.

That realization eventually became Flower Energy.

100+ Guests. A Sold-Out Room. Every Book Signed.

There is something surreal about sitting at a table after speaking and watching a line form with your book in people’s hands.

One by one, I was able to sign copies, talk with readers, hear their stories, take pictures, hug new friends, and share a little more flower energy.

By the end of the event, all of the books had been signed.

That is a moment I will never forget.

But this tour isn’t really about numbers.

It’s about connection.

If one woman goes home, looks at the flowers on her table differently, takes a few quiet minutes to breathe beside them, sends flowers to someone who needs encouragement, or begins using nature as part of her own spiritual practice, then this book is doing exactly what I hoped it would do.

The First Stop of Something Beautiful

Houston, you set the bar very high.

This was stop number one of my Jewish Book Council tour, and my heart is incredibly full.

I came to Houston carrying Flower Energy.

I am leaving carrying the stories, kindness, hugs, conversations, and beautiful energy of more than 100 new friends.

Thank you to everyone who attended, everyone who purchased a book, everyone who welcomed me, and every person who helped create such a meaningful afternoon.

This is only the beginning.

The flowers are officially on tour.
