Did you know I once appeared on television as myself, bringing my flower shaman energy to a floral design competition? In 2010, I was one of ten designers cast on Logo TV’s The Arrangement. I still have the original poster, with its colorful, wild flowers and me right there in the middle. Looking at it now brings back the excitement of that chapter of my life.

The Arrangement premiered October 4, 2010. Produced by World of Wonder, the company behind RuPaul’s Drag Race, it gave floral designers challenges far beyond a traditional bouquet. We were asked to think quickly, take creative risks, and show what flowers could do on camera. The show was hosted by Gigi Levangie Grazer, with floral designer Eric Buterbaugh as head judge. Logo’s original announcement listed me as Jenny Barker of Redondo Beach, California.
I came to the show with my own point of view. I have always felt that flowers speak to people. Color can shift the feeling in a room. A bloom can hold a memory, mark a celebration, or help someone express what words cannot. That is the heart of the “flower shaman” side of me—and the heart of what I now share as Jenny Barker The Flower Doctor.

Being on The Arrangement let me show another side of the floral world: adventurous, theatrical, emotional, and full of personality. The poster called it “the dirtiest, thorniest, most cutting competition yet.” It certainly captured the playful spirit of the show! Seeing my face on that poster still makes me smile.
Sixteen years later, the same belief guides my work at Magical Blooms. Whether I am creating flowers for a life celebration, leading a private Flower Prescription session, or sharing the stories in my book Flower Energy, I want every flower to mean something to the person receiving it.
So here is your little piece of Flower Doctor history: before the book and the Flower RX, I was on Logo TV’s The Arrangement, showing up as Jenny Barker and sharing the magic I saw in flowers. And yes, I kept the poster.
