I’m so grateful to share this feature: “The Flower Doctor Jenny Barker brings healing power of blooms to Monrovia.” Seeing my work introduced to another community is such a meaningful moment. Every opportunity to talk about flowers is an opportunity to share something close to my heart: the comfort, connection, and joy I find in them.
There’s a reason I keep coming back to flowers
At Magical Blooms, I get to help people say things that can be hard to put into words.
Sometimes a bouquet says, “I love you.” Sometimes it says, “I’m thinking of you,” or “You don’t have to go through this alone.” Other times, flowers are simply a celebration—a little permission to enjoy something beautiful right now.
That is the heart of my work as The Flower Doctor. I choose flowers with intention, thinking about the person receiving them and the feeling we want to express.
For me, the magic is in that personal connection.
The heart behind Flower Energy
My book, Flower Energy: Channeling the Healing Power of Blooms, grew from my love of flowers and my desire to help people experience them more personally.
I want you to pause when you bring flowers home. Notice which colors you’re drawn to. Take a moment to enjoy their shapes and textures. Think about what you want to welcome into your day—joy, kindness, gratitude, or a little more peace.
You don’t need a special occasion or a perfectly styled home. A few stems on your kitchen counter can become a lovely daily reminder to slow down and pay attention.
