Sometimes you have to stop for a moment and look at how far a dream has traveled.

Today, I searched Jenny Barker and Flower Energy on Google Books and there it was: my book, my name, my story, and an official author biography.

Seeing Flower Energy: Channeling the Healing Power of Blooms listed on Google Books feels surreal.

I have spent decades surrounded by flowers. What began as a love for flowers became my career, my business Magical Blooms, my identity as The Flower Doctor, and eventually an entire book about what I have experienced and learned from working with flowers.

From Florist to Published Author

Google Books describes me as a single mom and self-made entrepreneur, the owner of Magical Blooms in Redondo Beach, California, and a sought-after floral designer with decades of experience.

It also recognizes some of the incredible places this flower journey has taken me, from designing for private clients and television productions to working with beautiful hotels and being featured in the media.

When you’re busy running a business every day, arranging flowers, taking care of customers, creating events and simply keeping everything moving, you don’t always stop to recognize your own journey.

Seeing it written there made me stop.

What Is Flower Energy?

Published by Running Press in 2026, Flower Energy: Channeling the Healing Power of Blooms is much more than a traditional flower-arranging book.

It explores something I have believed and experienced throughout my career:

Flowers have energy.

Different flowers can make us feel different things. They can remind us of people and places. They can shift the feeling of a room. They can bring comfort during grief, joy during celebration, and beauty into an ordinary day.

In Flower Energy, I share my approach to connecting with flowers and using their beauty, symbolism, and energy with intention.

The book brings together floral design, personal growth, self-care, inspiration and the deeper emotional connection we can have with nature.

A Dream That Grew One Flower at a Time

I didn’t begin this journey knowing that one day I would become a published author.

I simply loved flowers.

I kept showing up.

I kept designing.

I kept learning.

And somewhere along the way, people began calling me The Flower Doctor because I wasn’t only interested in what flowers looked like. I was fascinated by how they made people feel.

That curiosity eventually became Flower Prescriptions, Flower Energy, and now a published book that can be discovered through Google Books and bookstores around the world.

That is pretty incredible to see.
